15) Went to Sydney, walked for an hour in new high heeled boots, and still managed to dance and walk back to the hotel.
16) Visited Dom and Mjelva (when in Sydney). Had coffee at the harbour and went to the opera house at 2am.
17) Ate a teaspoon of chopped raw garlic.
18) Watched Phantom of the Opera.
19) Walked along the Torrens River with pretty lanterns to celebrate the Moon Lantern Festival (or the Mooncake festival)
20) Went to the Flinders Ranges, and saw the most beautiful night sky. Also saw lots of road-killed kangaroos…
21) Carried a Koala!
22) Cycled to the south parks of Adelaide with a friend I hardly knew.
23) Went on a Buddhist camp, learnt a lot. Went vegetarian for a few days, ate blindfolded, learnt meditation. Was probably one of the best getaways I’ve been on.

25) Played lots of Bejeweled.
26) Cried in uni.
27) Drank lots of coffee. (I think caffeine is starting to have less effect on me…)
28) Made lots of new friends. From Adelaide uni, from Work, and from Pharmacy too. I don’t know why it took me so long to get to know some of them…
29) Celebrated Deepavali with yummy muruku!
30) Attended a gazillion surprise birthday parties… ok not a gazillion. but quite a lot. Surprise parties seem to be the ‘in’ thing for the year.

49) Attended a wedding. My family reunion… since I wont be back for CNY again…
50) Made this list.
ONE hour left to 2009. Hope you had a wonderful year and I wish you an enjoyable and safe 2010.
Sure, it was fast. But it has been one heck of a year.
I’m amazed at how much can be done in a year. Imagine what we can do in a lifetime.
So at the end of 2009, where am I? At uni… thankfully.
So many of my friends have graduated. So many of them are now working full time. Some are getting married!
Soon it’ll be my turn and oh no… would life stil lbe the same? Would I still be able to cram so much into a year as I get to now? Would I get to do even more?
I don’t know. Although I really hope I do.
So what do i have planned for the last 2 days of the year?
Nothing.
At least for now. You never know. With my dad, anything is possible.
Singapore to Amsterdam by plane to transfer to Prague, then train to Ceske budejovice and Cesky Krumlov for the day,Vienna and Budapest.
Back on the plane to Amsterdam airport to transfer back to Singapore.
Hop into my dad’s car, and drove to Petaling Jaya to drop my sis, to Ipoh for dinner with a family friend, arriving in Penang after midnight.
From Penang, took a 8 hour bus ride to Kota Bharu. Took a ride in the car to visit beaches and arrived in Terengganu for a little while… 2 days later, went back to Penang on another 8 hour bus ride.
Return to Singapore 2 days later by car, stopping by in PJ for lunch with my sis and her bf.
So, Back in Singapore, and here to stay… for the next 2 weeks. Before we’re off to Kuantan…
Full rainbow. (image stolen from a google search result...)
During one of the very long road trips I’ve been on recently I thought of something really random.
I was wondering if this was possible…
Rainbows can form anywhere around the world, right? Is it possible that, for every single day in the year, at least one person would encounter a rainbow…?
And if someone created an online forum or something to track where rainbows are seen, publicize it so everyone knows about it, would there be a new entry every single day from all over the world?
I’m probably pretty strange for coming up with the idea, let alone putting so much thought into this, but hey, rainbows are pretty. They’re worth acknowledging. I get excited everytime I see one and they never fail to make me smile. I don’t know about you.
OK so it’s kinda boxing day today… not quite christmas day itself, but there’s 12 days of christmas… right? o.O
I’m currently back in Singapore after a long week in Penang and KB.
It was an eight hour bus ride from PP to KB but was worth it.
KB was awesome. Short trip but C and her family are pros at having 1 day visitors. Tried everything there was to be tried (in terms of the local food) and even drove out to see the beaches thanks to C’s brother. They not only successfully fattened me up, they also paid for a bunch of stuff for me to buy back for my family… paiseh nye…
thanks Wee family very much!! I really enjoyed my stay there. Especially with the company of your two little fluff balls.
So after all that driving, we’re now back in Singapore.
My family was supposed to be back 4 days ago but due to a little accident, (motorcyclist decided to ride his bike directly into the side of our car. You’d think a Bright YELLOW Honda Jazz driving at 20km/hr would be visible enough in the daylight of Penang, but No… he decided it looked like a good target to ram into…) We had to fix our car, hence had to stay back for a few more days.
Don’t worry we’re all alive and safe and back home.
Hope you all had a good christmas and are enjoying the end of year break.
Wherever you are, Stay safe and watch for stypid motorcyclists!
Was at a wedding dinner last night. 65 tables at the gurney hotel. Today was the actual wedding ceremony. the whole- groom goes to the bride’s house, has to go through several roadblocks and give out lots of ang pows before getting to the bride, then the tea giving ceremony and all that…
A bit ‘terbalik’ really… the dinner should come AFTER the wedding, but i guess they didnt hav emuch choice cuz of timing and bookings and all that.
Updates on the food i’ve had…
too much to name all. hahaha!! but i’ve had my penang laksa, ice kacang, char kuay teow etc etc…
ok lah. im gona go now and stop being so antisocial.
Had hokkien mee for breakfast/lunch this afternoon.
still looking forward to the char kuay teow and chendol and penang laksa… I just hope I’ve got enough time. haha!
Anyway, planning my trip to KB turns out to be a bigger night mare than I ever expected. Do I travel by Bus? by train? Do i stop by Kuantan? Do i go straight to Singapore?how long should I stay at any of these places?
So silly…
I wish I could just do what I want (if i could plan it all by myself, I would stop by kuantan for a couple of days before heading home. KB and Spore is a long bus/train ride away!!)
Anyway. Write more when I’ve eaten more and put on more weight.
Oh, I’ve got new glasses. They’re plastic, dark brown and electric green. I almost went for something more shocking in colour. I tried on these really nice green/aqua blue ones but I thought of placements next year… I wouldn’t want to be wearing shocking glasses to do my placements next year… would i? =S
So my glasses look like my glasses… You’ll see them soon enough.
I could have gone to Genting but then my sis said something about having to pretend to be an intern or something like that because she’s there on a work trip and me ‘following’ would make the other people there not too happy… So i said I won’t go because knowing me I’ll be a horrible ‘pretender’.
i had also planned to drop by Kuantan after KB but then I think my dad wants me home for christmas I’m not too sure why (because we don’t even celebrate it…) so plans to go to Kuantan is scrapped.
Anyway. Just thought I should keep you guys updated.
Oh and I bought a new pair of shoes again today. I wanted to buy an ‘expensive’ pair of shoes just because i keep on getting cheap shoes, but then i looked around so much and i couldn’t find something i like. then i found this pair i really like!! and it was dead cheap. =.=” OK i shouldn’t be complaining…
They feel really comfortable. I really hope they don’t bite my feet like the previous 3 pairs I’ve tried so far. I had 1 pair that didn’t really bite though. So fingers crossed this one is fine.
Still need to buy shoes for my uncle’s wedding though. I actually forgot about that. So I’m going shopping again tomorrow since we’re leaving to Penang on Thursday and the wedding is on Friday night!
I’ve bought a couple of tshirts, a couple of sweaters and a belt so far I’ve still got more shoes i want to buy and more tshirts. I really hope my bag doesn’t end up overweight… I’m flying Airasia back this year! ><
